In an incident that has shocked Zimbabwe, a Chinese national who stands accused of marrying a minor has been fined just four cattle.
Many commentators were hoping that the man would be jailed so that a strong message would be sent to perpetrators.
Some Zimbabwean impoverished families are marrying off young girls as a way of escaping poverty.
The Chinese national is an engineer at a Chinese mine operating in Zimbabwe. It is alleged that he was looking for a wife and one of his employees told her about the 15 year old girl.

He then sent an in between to go and pay lobola for the girl. He paid US$2000.
The girl had to drop out of school so that she could assume wife duties.
The man was ordered to appear before a chiefs court, rather than a magistrates court.
Chief Samuel Neuso of Sanyati has ordered a Chinese national accused of marrying a minor to pay four cattle, three sheep and an unspecified amount of money as a fine for the offence.
