
A man who is a former bank employee has been arrested in Cape Town for allegedly stealing Kruger Rands that are estimated to be worth R7.8Million in Knysna. He has appeared in court on Friday.
The man is 54 years old. He was wanted by the police for years and finally he was caught and arrested at his home in Wilderness bon Thursday.
His warrant was issued by the Knysna magistrate's court.
Upon his appearance in court, his case was remanded to the 27th of January for a bail hearing.
The theft is said to have taken place during 2011 in May until March 2012.
The owner of the Kruger Rands gave the suspect these coins for safekeeping whilst he was still working at a bank.
When the owner requested for the coins back the suspect refused to give her. She then went to open a case against the man.
