Breaking News: Two Foreigners Sentenced To 23 Years Imprisonment

Covid-19: Prison cases climb to 1 622, with 12 deaths | News24Two rhino poachers from Mozambique have been sentenced to 23 years in prison by the Skukuza Regional Court in Mpumalanga.

The powerful sentence was forced after the men were seen as at legitimate fault for intruding in the Kruger National Park, killing safeguarded rhinos, having an illicit gun and ammo, and negation of the Immigration Act.

The pair were captured in the Satara part of the public park in 2019.

"Americo Mathonsi and Michael Chauke were each condemned to 23 years in jail on rhino poaching charges. They were viewed as at fault for killing two rhinos, ownership of illicit weapons including a powerful hunting rifle. We are cheerful equity has been served and trust that this will send a solid message to other people who expect on killing our regular legacy for their covetousness" said representative Ike Phaahla.
