The circumstances surrounding the refusal of the South African authorities from renewing the Zimbabwean Special dispensation permit is growing as over 250, 0000 zimbabwean are currently exposed to deportation by November 2021.
Our government action has put many zimbabweans into uncertainty as to what will be their fate if the exemption permit expires.
Meanwhile, you would recall that group of Zimbabweans resident in South Africa earlier last week took Home Affairs to court in a bid to compel them to renew their permit.
Many South Africans may not have seen or heard of the man Simba Chitando who happens to be the lead lawyer pushing for the renew of Zimbabwean exemption permit.
Simba Chitando was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa on 11 April 2008 and joined the Cape Bar in November 2009.
Obtained Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) at Rhodes University in 2004. Then conferred with Masters of Commercial Law (LLM) at the University of Cape Town in 2007. The Masters focused on: Advanced Company Law; Maritime Law; Labour Law; & Economic Law.
Served on the pupillage, transformation, and parliamentary committee of the Cape Bar. Served on the pro bono committee of the Johannesburg Bar.
