Sadly On Thursday, court procedures against Smith and previous Bosasa boss activities official, Angelo Agrizzi, were deferred to September.
The two have been accused of debasement, while Smith deals with extra indictments of extortion.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA's) Investigating Directorate's Sindisiwe Seboka said: "The NPA's Investigative Directorate made an application under Section 157 of the Criminal Procedures Act to have the issue of the pair isolated."
She clarified why the solicitation was presented: "This comes in the wake of Agrizzi's attorney who presented a clinical report that Agrizzi is right now unsuitable quickly to stand preliminary. Furthermore, the ID advised the court on extra charges to be added against Smith in a similar matter."
