Finally Judge Mandisa Maya breaks her silence

Few weeks ago, South Africans were up in arms advocating for president of the republic of South Africa to appoint Judge Mandisa Maya to be the first female Chief Justice in the republic of South Africa.

Even Judiciary Service Commission recommended her over other candidates such as Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo. This comes after interviews of Chief Justice hosted by Judiciary Service Commission.

It is unfortunate that even though Judge Mandisa Maya had some huge support, the president of the republic of South Africa and African National Congress Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa decided to appoint Justice advocate Raymond Zondo.

For the first time after she lost for the position of Chief Justice, Judge Mandisa Maya breaks her silence.

Judge Mandisa Maya who has been nominated as Deputy Chief Justice pledges full support to Judge Raymond Zondo after appointment as Chief Justice.

Furthermore, [SCA] President Maya has full confidence in Justice Zondo as a leader in the Judiciary and has no doubt that the contribution he will continue to make in our jurisprudence and administration of justice will strengthen and move the South African Judiciary forward.
