New Witness and Former Employee speaks of Mkhwebane being Pressured and Changes of information (See)

Public Protector advocate Busisiwe Mkwebane was pressured to finalize the CIEX report, at least that is according to a new witness and former employee in the Public Protector's office, Advocate Livhuwani Tshiwalule, who testified before the parliamentary hearing against Mkhwebane yesterday. Advocate Livhuwani Tshiwalule says; well funded organizations like Black First Land First camped outside the office to get investigation into the matter completed.

Advocate Livhuwani Tshiwalule worked in private office of the advocate Busisiwe Mkwebane Public Protector from 2014 until 2016.

Advocate Livhuwani Tshiwalule and advocate Thuli Madonsela, during their 10 years working together, they worked on a number of big investigations. Some of the report they worked on include Bankorp CIEX report, Vrede Dairy Farm Project, State Capture among others. The Bankorp CIEX report recommend that over R1 Billion in apartheid era funds must be recovered from the absa bank and that the reserve bank mandate be changed.

Advocate Livhuwani Tshiwalule told section 194 committee that the material where changed in the provision report. He said the report is not the same as that of advocate Madonsela and that of advocate Mkhwebane is completely different from that was left by the former Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela.

"If you look at the draft that the former Public Protector left and this one, it differ completely. They is also section 5 of the executive summary and it completely differs with the one that was left by advocate Madonsela."

Advocate Livhuwani Tshiwalule told the MPs that the recommendation to amend the mandate of the Reserve Bank was not relevant to the CIEX report which Mkhwebane took over from Madonsela.
