4 373 new cases has been recorded in the last 24 hours

The picture is really starting to be clear on the fourth wave and there is no doubt about it. It is just a matter of days before the president come back to us with another family meeting. This time around he will be telling us about another lock down. The new cases are rapidly increasing and this is a concern.

In the last 24 hours, the number of new cases recorded is 4 373 which represent 10.2% positivity rate. The positivity rate has increased dismally from just under 2% and now we are on 10% in just less than a week. 21 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported taking the death to 89 843.

There has been an increase of 119 hospital admissions in the past 24 hours. Gauteng alone has recorded 3 143 new cases, Western Cape has recorded 285 new cases with KwaZulu-Natal recording just 259. The number of active cases is now at 28 651.
