The first confirmed case of monkeypox was recorded in South Africa, it was confirmed by the National Institute Of Communicable Diseases.

The National Institute Of Communicable Diseases has revealed that there is a possibility that the number of cases on monkeypox can increase in the country.

Even though monkeypox is said to be a mild virus, there is a chance that the virus can spread through the country.

The NICD has urged the government to create a plan that will help contain the virus in order to prevent the quick spreading of the virus.

Other countries in the world have recorded more cases of monkeypox since the monkeypox infections began.

South Africans have been urged not to panic because of the case but to remain careful.
