The South African positivity rate dropped to 7.8% on Monday

The positivity rate for South Africa dropped to 7.8% as of Monday evening . This came after there were 17 187 Covid-19 tests that were carried out in the whole of South Africa in the previous 24 hours .

Community members need to continue getting tested to ensure that they know their Covid-19 statuses . Still on the Covid-19 status , i was revealed in the statistics that were released that there were 1332 new Covid-19 positive cases that were detected in the country .The total number of Covid-19 cases since the year 2020 is now at 3 582 691 .

The Covid-19 remains a concern in South Africa because people have not only been getting infected,but they have been dying from it as well . Statistics at hand confirmed that there were 14 people who died from Covid-19 related sicknesses as of Monday .

The cumulative number of deaths from the pandemic now stands at 94 265 .It has been noted that the pandemic is the cause of hospitalizations and possible deaths .

There have been some measures that have been identified to help curb the spread of the pandemic . The most common one being that one of wearing masks each time when one is in the public .

It may feel uncomfortable to wear masks all the time , but it is a new normal that people have to get used to .There are other ways that have been identified to help reduce the transmission of the desease .

There is sanitising of hands or washing of hands using soap . This is essential as it kelps kill the virus before it gets into the body .Advise has also been shared on the need for people to avoid spaces that will be crowded .The places such as homes ,schools , hotels , restaurants , shops and many more need to be well ventilated to help reduce the spread of Covid-19.
