Opinion: is it Cyril Ramaphosa's fault that the new cases have doubled, or is it something else?

Recently Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the nation. At the time of his address cases had already started slowly rising and experts were sure that a fourth was coming. He had a very important decision to make at this time and when he eventually spoke. He chose to warn us of the coming danger, ask us to get vaccinated, but not make any real changes. Now South has just recorded over eight thousand new cases on the first of December. Nearly double what was recorded the day before, and I believe that this, along with what may be coming, is the president's fault. Here's what I mean.

Cyril Ramaphosa has to make very delicate decisions when it comes to deciding on lockdowns and bans. He has to balance saving lives, with keeping the economy stable and I understand that. However when he last addressed us he took no action, he didn't balance saving lives, because he didn't put any bans or lockdowns in place to save those lives.

I believe that when people's lives are in your hands, as they are in the presidents, than you have to take every necessary step to protect those lives. However according to my own opinion, he hasn't.

The infection is spreading faster, the latest statistics above show us that the cases have doubled, and those newly infected can now infect others. It also shows us that twenty eight people have died, that's not just a statistic, that's twenty eight people that our government was responsible for and now have to be buried by the families. So personally I do believe that Cyril Ramaphosa is partly to blame for the deaths and the new cases, but that's just my opinion.
