Covid-19 has been causing nothing but damage to the people of the world . Beside the loss jobs and a negative impact on world economies , people have been dying . Zimbabwe lost three people as of Thursday the 27th of January 2022 .
This took the total number of fatalities as a result of Covid-19 to 5324 since 2020 . Covid-19 was first detected in 2020 in Zimbabwe and people have been dying in the process . It is sad that thousands have died from Covid-19 and there is a lot that can be done to avoid deaths .
Moving on to the daily new Covid-19 cases , Zimbabwe recorded a total of 153 cases .This took the total number of cases that have been identified in Zimbabwean institutions to 229 096 since 2020 .There was Manicaland province that recorded the highest number of new Covid-19 cases .
It had a total of 32 cases .Mashonaland East recorded the second highest number of new infections with 26 new cases . The third highest number of new Covid-19 cases were recorded in provinces such as Mashonaland West (19) , Masvingo( 19) and Matabeleland South ( 19) .
There were other provinces in Zimbabwe that managed to record lesser new Covid-19 cases . There were provinces like Bulawayo (6) , Mashonaland Central (6) , Midlands( 6) , and Harare (9) .The new Covid-19 cases may have decreased , but the pandemic is still there .
It is for this reason that there should be no room for complacency when it comes to measures that are aimed at helping curb the spread of the pandemic . Fatalities and new infections have been the pattern since Covid-19 was first detected in the country , hence the great need to continue wearing masks , sanitizing , and keeping our places well ventilated .
