BREAKING: Kenyan Government Extends Curfew as Police Are Handed New Tough Instructions

BREAKING: Government Extends Curfew as Police Are Handed New Tough Instructions

Following a recent increase in infections in the country, the government released new Covid-19 control measures today, July 30th.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, speaking at Harambee House, said Kenyans have been disobeying the guidelines, resulting in an increase in the spread of the virus. Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyamba stated that the police will now enforce the new laws on Kenyans who disobey them.

Curfew has been extended for another 30 days, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., in counties along the lake, which was previously imposed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

All public gatherings have also been prohibited, with the CS stating that leaders must safeguard both their followers and themselves from this terrible sickness.

CS Kagwe also warned Kenyans against self-medicating for respiratory diseases, claiming that several Kenyans have died as a result.

Kenyans hoped for relief, but the CS stresses that health comes first, which is why the government is enforcing the curfew and all other pthwr standards.
