The Gauteng Premier Mr David Makhura is reported to have expressed concern over the low vaccination drive in his province .It was alleged in the report that Omicron variant was affecting more people who were not vaccinated .
The province is the most affected in the country . This has been shown by the number of cases that have been on an increase on a daily basis .
The Premier is concerned with the members of the public who are not vaccinated .This is because it is suspected that the unvaccinated may develop severe symptoms of the pandemic .
In accordance to the report , there are eight million people have not been vaccinated in Gauteng . Another concern that has been issued is in regard to the low turnout of people for the second jab of Pfizer as a result of hesitancy . This has led to the number of fully vaccinated remaining low in South Africa .
