How Water Helps You Maintain A Good Healthy Body

introduction

Drinking water helps maintain the balance of body fluids. The functions of these body fluids include digestion, absorption, circulation, saliva creation, nutrient transport, and maintenance of body temperature.

Water is a great 'medicine' that can help prevent and cure various diseases. It is a medicine that is available in almost every home; Pure water. If you are not aware of how water helps stay healthy and cure quite a few diseases, then I suggest you read on.

Water is an essential element of a healthy body. You should drink plenty of water throughout the day. Do not fear from the 'feeling of thirst '. Feeling thirsty is an indication that your body has already begun to become dehydrated.

About our healthy body

More than 70% of its body is water. And if the 'water level' in these essential organs is below 70%, chances are high that you will get sick. The body USES stored water if its food/liquid intake does not provide enough water to compensate for the loss through excretion.

Essentially, this results in your body becoming dry and thin. Thus, the loss of water affects not only its internal function, but also its external appearance.

Daily exercise, a good night's sleep, and proper nutrition are all part of a healthy lifestyle. And we understand that with today's busy schedules, it's sometimes difficult for families to stay on the road. But drinking water is one of the easiest ways to stay hydrated and healthy throughout the day.

Five reasons water is so important to our health

1. Water is a source of energy. Water distributes vital nutrients to all our cells, especially to muscle cells and to cause muscle fatigue.

2. Water helps you lose weight. Water helps you feel refreshed for a long time without adding extra calories. Drinking water or eating foods with the highest water content can be a great help in controlling your weight.

3. Water helps digestion. Water helps with constipation and other stomach problems, especially those who suffer from obs. Water helps move long and through the digestive process.

4. Water detoxifies. It quickly moves toxins through our body systems, and optimizes kidney function. Inadequate hydration means the kidney is not working properly.

5. Water moisturizes the skin of our body. Forget about expensive and healing skin creams, water is the best prevention against skin aging and skin enlargement.

How Much Water Do We Need?

Our bodies can survive several days without food, but without water, we can only live about 3 to 5 days. Water is essential for the body to function properly and, without adequate hydration, our bodily functions begin to deteriorate, leading to poor health.

Our bodies lose water in several ways, through urinating, sweating, through our tears and even through the breathing process. It is vital that we replace the water in our bodies by ensuring that we drink plenty of water everyday.

According to the Mayo Clinic, there is no set amount of water you should drink every day, but for proper hydration, men should drink roughly 13 eight ounce cups of beverages every day, while a woman should drink about nine cups. While those are total beverage counts, most of them should be water.

There will be times when you need to consume more water than normal. When you are exercising, in order to replace the water you lose through sweating, you should drink water before, during and after exercise. Also, during periods of extreme heat, you will need more water to keep your body cool.

The Importance of Water: Proper Hydration

If you don’t consume enough liquids, water in particular, you can become dehydrated. This is particularly true if you have been sick and vomiting, for the elderly and young children, if you are not drinking enough liquids when you’re outside on a hot day or when you are exercising.

Dehydration is common in many people, but it usually isn’t serious and increasing the intake of water will help resolve the issue. For others, dehydration puts their health in serious jeopardy and it requires immediate medical care. The elderly and diabetics need to stay on top of their water intake in order to stave off dehydration and prevent more damage to their health.

Some of the signs of dehydration can be as insignificant as a headache or it can lead to lethargy, a lack of alertness or even constipation. A few of the more serious signs of dehydration include:

Lack of sweat

Fever

Shriveled skin

Delirium

Low blood pressure

Rapid heart beat

Unconsciousness
