8 Types Of Food That You Eat Every day That Can Kill You.

Food is any substance consumed to provide nutritional support for an organism. Food is usually of plant, animal or fungal origin, and contains essential nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals.

Many of us don’t consider food fatal. Most of us are not aware that food poisoning can be a potentially life-threatening experience to a young child, a pregnant woman, elderly individuals, or individuals whose immune systems are compromised due to another condition or illness.

Most of us are not certain which of the food we eat we might be allergic too. Turns out, there are plenty of dangerous things in your kitchen, and many foods that often taste delicious can post a threat to your health if you're not careful. Do a sweep of your fridge and pantry for these items to ensure safe eating.

These are the food that you have in your kitchen that could kill you.

Cashew nuts

Additionally, cashews must be cooked or steamed before consumption, as in their raw state they contain urushiol, a chemical which is also found in poison ivy, and can be fatal if consumed in large enough amounts. So if you see cashews growing in the wild on your travels, don't pick or eat them.

Mushrooms

Not every mushroom is created equal. Crimini mushrooms might make perfect pasta toppers, but some species contain poisons that can kill.

Kidney Beans

Kidney beans contain the toxin phytohaemagglutinin, which will make you extremely ill and in some rare cases has killed. The beans MUST be boiled for 10 minutes before cooking, and that includes slow cooking. These beans become five times more toxic when heated to the temperatures used in slow cooking than they are when raw, so never just add them to a stew or chili without boiling them first.

Pizza

Pizza is one of the world’s most popular junk foods.

Most commercial pizzas are made with unhealthy ingredients, including highly refined dough and heavily processed meat. Pizza also tends to be extremely high in calories.

Potatoes

Whole, white potatoes are very healthy. However, the same cannot be said of French fries and potato chips.

Given the fact that they're deep-fried in hydrogenated oils, fries come packed with a high amount of trans fat, which raises your bad cholesterol and lowers your good cholesterol. The profound effect of this is that you'll boost your heart disease risk.

Cherries

Cherries seem harmless enough, but these little guys—their pits, actually—can do a lot of damage. Aside from being nearly impossible to chew, or crack with your teeth, the stones of fruits like cherries, apricots, plums, and peaches contain cyanogenic compounds that turn to cyanide when crushed.

If you accidentally swallow a cherry pit, don’t sweat it; they’re rarely poisonous when eaten whole, according to the British Columbia Drug and Poison Information Centre. Just be sure to avoid the broken pits.

Tomato

The juicy, red fruit contains a poison, Glycoalkaloid, in its leaves, which is known for causing upset stomachs, severe cramping, and anxiety. So steer clear of the leaves and stems.

Bonus

Drinking water.

Ever heard of hyponatremia? It’s a fancy word for "water intoxication," and it happens when you drink too much water. It seems people everywhere are constantly reminding us to hydrate more, more, more. So how in the world does hyperthermia work:-

It occurs occurs from drinking too much water, upsetting electrolyte balances.

Drinking too much water can decrease sodium in the blood to dangerously low levels, causing mild to life-threatening problems. People who participate in endurance activities, such as a marathon or triathlon, are at risk.
