In this article, I am going to talk about the things you do that can lead you to premature death. Doing any of the things which I will mention below will not only impact the quality of your life but also the quantity. I know that death may come in many ways which we cannot prevent. You can die from a car accident or you can get strays from gangsters. Here I will only discuss things you have control over.
When you tell a smoker that smoking kills. The first answer you would get is we all going to die. The problem with smoking is not only the fact that it's going to kill you, but it will also negatively impact the quality of your life. You won't enjoy the health benefits that come with being a nonsmoker. Smoking will slow-kill every organ in your body including your sex organs. It will also lead to countless other health complications including cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung disease, and more.
2. Unprotected sex
It is ok if you trust the person you are doing it with. The problem is when you sleep around without using a condom. According to statistics South Africa, 13,1% of people in the country are HIV positive. The other risk is that you may get STI.
3. Overindulgence in alcohol
Drinking moderately is completely ok but the problem is when you overdo it. Excessive drinking will lead to a motor vehicle crash. The health risks of alcohol include but are not limited to, mouth cancer, stroke, liver disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke.
Overeating will lead to weight gain. Obesity has been proven to cause many health complications such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, and sleep apnea.
5. Not getting enough exercise
We all know that if you want to live a healthy lifestyle you need regular exercise. Exercise will help you lower the risk of obesity by helping you manage your weight. You don't even need an expensive gym membership to start exercising. Walking, jogging and even dancing all counts as exercise.
