
The number of Corona virus cases recorded on Monday the 23rd of May totalled 1662 new positive coronavirus cases. A total of 8 deaths were also recorded in the last 24 to 48 hours.
Gauteng recorded the highest number of cases with a total of 650 cases. It was followed by the Western Cape with a total of 371 positive cases. Then followed by kwazulu-natal with 216 cases.
The positivity rate remains at 13.7% which is fairly low compared to previous statistics.
The overall number of coronavirus cases recorded on Thursday were addressed the decrease from the total number of cases that were being recorded previously.
These statistics were provided by the National Institute of communicable diseases in South Africa.
Even though the number of cases have decreased individuals are urged to follow all health regulations, to be careful and to continue getting vaccinated and receiving their booster shots.
