Marburg is a recently described lethal virus that primarily attacks the respiratory system. According to the BBC, the disease is highly contagious and was originally discovered in Guinea when one person exhibited symptoms consistent with Marburg virus.
One person has been reported to have contracted Marburg virus and died shortly after infection. Laboratory tests confirmed that the Marburg virus had wreaked havoc on his respiratory system during the few hours he was exposed. According to the World Health Organization, several diseases are frequently transmitted via fruit bats.
It spreads to humans via fluid exchange. Everybody should use caution and avoid contact with those who are suffering from breathing difficulties, the flu, or sneezing, among other issues. These are the symptoms of the Marburg infection. (From the BBC)
