An update was released yesterday on Covid19 statistics and the Western Cape was the region with the highest number of cases as the country continues to battle coronavirus.
The Western Cape is expected to enter the third wave peak soon. Wits University's Professor Shabir Madhi says hospital admissions in the province are expected to increase. He says the next two weeks will be critical for the Western Cape's COVID-19 battle.
Vaccines will still be distributed to that region. The delta variant spreads like a wildfire and can be controlled if better protocols are followed. Restrictions will be imposed by the government on that province.
Madhi also said that he was also predicting more waves, and they would surely need to get 14 million vaccines to allow businesses to resume. President Cyril was present in the province to witness the citizens being vaccinated.
532 death cases were recorded yesterday and it is so sad.
