SA Covid-19 Statistics on Wednesday

Information that was released by the National Institute for Communicable Diseases highlighted that there was an increase in regard to the new Covid-19 cases in the country . This was a result of the fact that there was an increase to 4322 on Wednesday evening , up from the 3658 cases that were recorded . This information implies that South Africa has managed to identify a total of 3 568 900 positive cases since the year 2020 The number of Covid-19 tests that were conducted in the last 24 hours in South Africa stood at 40654 , to yield a positivity rate of 10.6%.

This increase in regard to the new number of new Covid-19 cases is an indication that there should be no room for complacency in implementing measures to protect against the pandemic . Measures such as wearing of masks is one of the most important measures that can be applied to help reduce against getting infected . The crowded spaces where there is poor to no ventilation need to be avoided all the times . Sanitizing of surfaces need to be a part of the everyday routine .

On a sad note , there was an increase in the number of deaths as a result of Covid-19 . The number of fatalities increase to 36 from 30 that were recorded on Tuesday evening .It is devastating that South Africa has lost a total of 93551 people from the pandemic . The number of Covid-19 active cases decreased to 85166 from 90 653 . Another way that has always been advised by the department of health is that of vaccination . Getting vaccinated against the pandemic plays a huge role towards helping reduce the possibility of getting infected , hospitalization and even deaths .
