The fight against the pandemic in Zimbabwe still continues . Some days are good , while some of them will be bad in terms of infections and fatalities . It was not a good day in terms of Covid-19 statistics that were released in the early morning hours of Tuesday highlighting what happened on Monday . The number of daily cases increased for Zimbabwe on the day that led to Monday .
This was because the new Covid-19 cases increased from 75 on 23 January 2022 to 287 cases on the 24th of January 2022 . This implied that the number of positively identified cases in Zimbabwe since the year 2020 reached 228 541 . There was only one province that recorded more than 100 daily cases in Zimbabwe on the day leading to Monday . The only province that recorded a higher figure was Masvingo . The province recorded a total of 106 new Covid-19 cases Manicaland was the province with the second highest number of new daily infections with 46 cases . Bulawayo province has been doing well for quite some time as it has been recording a low number in terms of new cases . It was the only province that recorded less than ten new daily cases . It had 7 new cases as of the 23rd of January 2022 .
Zimbabwe recorded an increase in the number of fatalities s well . the country had 11 Covid-19 related fatalities as of the 24th of January 2022 . This information from the Ministry of Health and Child Care showed that there had been 5305 people who had died because of the pandemic Harare province recorded the highest number of deaths as of the 24th of January with only five deaths . However it is still the province that has recorded the highest number of fatalities to date .
