Unsure if you have Covid or the flu? Here's how to tell the difference

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) this week declared a spike in South Africa's influenza numbers. 

NICD top of the Center for Respiratory Disease and Meningitis (CRDM), Professor Cheryl Cohen announced a consistent expansion in the quantity of influenza cases from week 34 (week beginning in August 23, 2021), with a sharp expansion in week 44 (week beginning on November 1 2021). 

With the fourth Covid-19 wave expected, how can one separate among influenza and Covid-19? 

As indicated by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), influenza and Covid-19 are both infectious respiratory ailments, however they are brought about by various infections.

Clinical disease transmission expert at the CRDM, Dr Sibongile Walaza added that albeit a great many people with influenza will give gentle ailment, it might cause serious sickness which might require hospitalization or result in death.
