Ever since scientists came with Vaccines the country's top officials have been trying by all means to get people vaccinated but they're still failing so they had to try another initiative. Remember South Africa is on a mission of vaccinating almost 70% of the country's population by December 31st.
Since the government by itself is failing to administer vaccines to all the people in South Africa, the deputy president David Mabuza has called on traditional and religious leaders to help the government get more people vaccinated against COVID-19.
North West has an impressive statistics of vaccination rate. One million people have been vaccinated out of 4 million of the provinces population.
On Thursday night Ramaphosa showed some leap of faith when he said that he's hoping that people will come in numbers to vaccinate this weekend.
According to Ramaphosa about 8 million have been fully vaccinated in South Africa but its not sufficient enough to curb the infections.
So, this for us is a totally critical weekend and that’s why I even have directed that the Deputy President and Ministers need to all be out. We agree that we now want to vaccinate 17 million humans between now and the cease of the year. And we agree that it's far imminently doable. And all we want to do is to do 250 000 each unmarried painting day inclusive of the Vooma Vaccination Weekend to get to that number.
In my opinion I think that the government has gone too extreme asking for chiefs and Traditional healers to advise people to get vaccinated because people won't trust their leaders within the society.
