1 691 new covid19 cases recorded in the last 24 hours

We have been living with the covid19 pandemic for almost two years now. There are vaccines that are developed for this virus but each and every day, we learn something new. Conspiracies around the virus continues and this make it difficult for people to go and vaccinate freely.

The Omicron variant that was driving the cases in the country seems to be fading away. This is as the number of cases continues to drop.

In the last 24 hours the number of new cases recorded is 1 691 which represent a positivity rate of 9. 3%. The number of covid19 related deaths is 25 taking the death toll to 93 451.

The majority of new cases today are from Gauteng Province (27%), followed by Western Cape (19%). KwaZulu-Natal accounted for 17%; Mpumalanga accounted for 11%; Limpopo and North West each accounted for 7% respectively; Free State accounted for 6%; Eastern Cape accounted for 5%; and Northern Cape accounted for 2% of today’s new cases.
