As a result of the increased number of new COVID-19 infections, Health Minister Joe Phaahla believes there is a chance of an inter-provincial travel ban this holiday season. Today, there were over 2800 cases reported, including 12 deaths.
There are people who have said that there are so many holidaymakers from Gauteng, and any lockdown is going to destroy the hospitality business. Restaurants will close, jobs will be lost, people will be unable to feed their families, and crime will increase even more. South Africa is not the first world, and simply cannot afford it another lockdown.
People should now imagine being incarcerated far from home. They are probably going to lose their minds. People need to take action because the government does not seem to take them seriously. They gather tens of thousands of people during elections, and now they want to keep families apart. Do you think people are going to comply with the lockdown regulations?
