President Cyril Ramaphosa recently addressed the nation and mentioned a lot of things that are related to Covid-19. It has been just over 2 years ever since the country was placed on lockdown. Lockdown had different impacts on different people as some people also lost their jobs.

Well, the president has just announced good news for South Africans. President Cyril Ramaphosa recently announced that the national state of disaster will be coming to an end tonight.

The president mentioned that they decided to terminate the national state of disaster due to decreasing numbers of Covid-19 cases. The president announced that some regulations will remain in place for the next 30 days to adjust to these new changes.

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that people still need to wear masks in public places. He also mentioned that people still need to show vaccination certificates if they are coming to South Africa or show proof of negative results of Covid-19.

Besides all these regulations, the president also announced that the lockdown will be coming to an end. This means that the different stages of lockdown that started in 2020 will no longer be in place.

The president also announced that people will no longer be charged if they break down rules related to Covid-19 as this was previously the case. He also announced that people will no longer be mandated to isolate themselves should there be suspicion of being in contact with Covid-19.

President Cyril Ramaphosa also mentioned that people will now be expected to show individual behaviour in stopping Covid-19.

The president also mentioned that the R350 support grant will remain in place for those who are receiving it.

This is a sign that South Africa has done a lot in the fight against Covid-19.
