Home Affairs Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi Has Been Confirmed to be Covid-19 Positive.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Mr Aaron Motsoaledi has been confirmed to be virus positive.

This is coming few weeks after South African scientist discovered and are still making effort to properly understand the new Omicron variant which the World Health Organisation has referred to as a ‘variant of concern’.

In a recent development, the Home Affairs Minister, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi is in self-isolation after testing positive for the new COVID-19 variant.

The National Coronavirus Command Council is expected to converge on Saturday to discuss how best to handle the issues around the pandemic, including the growing number of infections.

Meanwhile, Mondli Gungubele has sent his heart felt goodwill message to his counterpart Home Affairs Minister, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi and he wished him a speedy recovery from the deadly pandemic.

In a statement Gungubele said the Home Affairs Minister is in good health and self-isolating at the moment.

News of Motsoaledi’s testing positive to COVID-19 comes as South Africa had already recorded roughly 2,828 new cases and twelve COVID-related deaths over the latest 48-hour cycle .

Meanwhile, prior to the National Coronavirus Command Council scheduled meeting on Saturday to discuss the rising case of new infections and the impact of the new omicron variant, South Africans have been urged to vaccinate and comply with COVID-19 safety protocols to help stem the further spread of the decease.
