Disease prevention and treatment

"I have never infected any girl with HIV since starting treatment in 2012" A young man shares.

As today is World Aids day, a man decided to share his HIV journey on social media and had everyone talking. In his post he shared how he first got diagnosed with HIV in the year 2012 after losing weight and being unwell. After he got tested he started his ARV treatment and has been consistent in taking his medication. He also discovered that he was born HIV positive and has since then been doing well and has never infected anyone with HIV.

After sharing this people had a lot to say. Some were sharing their stories while others were wishing him well on his journey. See some of people comments down below.

HIV is one of the stigmatized diseases in South Africa and the world at large. With World Aids let us stop stigmatizing this disease, get tested, practice safe intimate practices, take treatment if positive and get support and support those who are infected and affected.
