National Institute of communicable diseases has reported and confirmed a total of 8524 new and positive coronavirus cases as well as five deaths in the past 28 to 48 hours.
Gauteng, Western Cape and Kwazulu-natal accounted for a large portion of these cases with gauteng having the highest of 3290 cases. Followed by kwazulu-natal with a total of 2278 cases. And 1379 cases for Western Cape.
The number of coronavirus cases have slowly been increasing in South Africa with the highest record in the past month being slightly Over 9,000 cases.
Even though the number of cases are increasing individuals are urged not to panic. This is because the 5th wave of Corona virus is not expected to be as severe as the previous waves.
Individuals are urged to get vaccinated as well as to follow all health regulations that have been put in place in an attempt to curb the transmissions of coronavirus.
