Here are a few things that are putting you at risk of kidney stones.

Kidney stones are extremely painful. A high concentration of minerals like calcium, oxalate, and uric acid form a type of crystal. These Crystals stick together to form kidney stones. It usually occurs when your kidneys don't have enough fluids. In this article we will look at some of the reasons why you might develop kidney stones.

1. Lack of water. If you don't drink water your kidneys are deprived of fluids and stones are likely to form.

2. Diet. Your diet can easily contribute to kidney stones depending on the type of foods you eat. As it was said that the stones are caused by oxalate and most of these healthy foods contain it just like spinach, bran cereal and rhubarb. Make sure to eat these in moderation.

3. If you are consuming too much table salt you are running into the risk of developing kidney stones. This happens because the sodium ends up increasing the amount of calcium in your urine.

4. Animal protein can put you at risk of getting kidney stones. And it mostly happens if you consume red meat and shellfish.

5. Type 2 diabetes. If you have this type of diabetes you are mostly likely to develop kidney stones because diabetes is a systemic disease.

6. Gout. If you are suffering from gout you are mostly likely to cause kidney, this is because the Crystal that cause gout also cause kidney stones.
