Hundreds more of South Africans are set to miss out on the vaccine rollout that has been planned by the government. This is after it was reported that 398 people had lost their lives as a result of the Covid-19 related complications. Their deaths means that even though they may have wished to be protected against the virus in future, it will not be happening.
The total number of deaths so far as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic is now at 45 344.The number of people losing their lives as a result of the Covid-19 is still high ,even though there was a decrease from 547 deaths recorded on Tuesday, to 398 recorded on Wednesday. The recovery rate however has been increasing, and it is now at 90.5 percent.
The number of infections that were recorded on Wednesday the 4th of February stood at 4 058 , which was an increase from 2 649 recorded on Tuesday. This takes the total number of cases so far to 1 463 016 .
However , the number of active Covid-19 cases is 93 992.The Kwa-Zulu Natal is the province with the highest number of active cases with more than 42 000 cases, with the Western Cape and Free state completing the top three .
