Covid-19| Unvaccinated people dominate in high care, ICU admissions _ Mediclinic confirms

Covid-19 is still very much with us, it continues to spread. The only defence we have against the virus is vaccination, many South Africans have already been vaccinated against the virus.

Everyone over the age of 18 is allowed to register and get vaccinated as of the beginning of September.

Although the vaccination rollout started earlier this year, the process has been going fairly good, more and more people are getting vaccinated. The phasing has been going fine, frontline workers were the first to get the jab, many jumped at the opportunity to get the jab.

Following by government workers, then elderly people and now every adult is allowed to register and get vaccinated.

Some members of the public are still hesitant to get vaccinated, mainly because of the stories that have been said on social media.

Although getting vaccinated doesn't prevent a person from contracting the virus, it helps the body fight the virus and reduce severe symptoms.

Many Covid-19 patients who have been vaccinated are unlikely to have severe symptoms and end up in ICU.

Mediclinic has confirmed that the unvaccinated people mainly make up ICU admissions.
