3 doses? Pfizer's new announcement gets everyone triggered.

Vaccination roll out in South Africa has been in place for the past few months and many people enthusiastic about the development of the vaccine as it is hope for many. Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson are the available vaccine brands in South Africa that are currently being rolled out. Specifically for Pfizer it was said that one needs to get two doses to be fully vaccinated and the two vaccine doses should be taken at least 6 weeks apart for them to be effective.

Pfizer recently announced that 3 of its shots work against Omicron, but that 2 are significantly less effective. Currently only two of the doses are available for South Africans but the announced of a 3rd dose came as a surprise to many as the thought was that two doses were needed for an individual to be fully vaccinated.

Opinion: It seems like one will never be fully vaccinated as the Corona virus keeps changing strains. A next Corona virus variant will come along and another dose of the vaccine will be required.
