Gauteng province continued to experience increases in regard to Covid-19 infections on Wednesday the 24th of November 2021 .
While South Africa recorded 1275 new positive Covid-19 cases , Gauteng accounted for 80 % of the cases .The cases were the highest in a long time and Gauteng seems to be the most affected province in South Africa .
The province with the second highest Covid-19 infections was Western Cape as it accounted for 5% of the 1275 positive Covid-19 infections .
The surge in Covid-19 cases in South Africa came at a time when there has been a call by the World Health Organization against complacency . The WHO called on nations not to be complacent against Covid-19 even it the vaccines are now available all over the world .
The 1275 new positive Covid-19 cases that were recorded on Wednesday took the total number of infections in South Africa to 2 950 035 .
