WHO confirmed that there was yet to be any Omicron related death despite its spread

The World Health Orgaisation reportedly confirmed that even though the new Omicron variant had been detected in 38 countries in South Africa , there was yet to be a fatality to be recorded .The report was made known on Friday by the World Health Organisation .

The United States of America and Australiaare the latest countries that confirmed cases of the new variant . South Africa on the other hand has recorded more than 3-million positive Covid-19 cases since 2020 .The World Health Organisation has however reportedly advised that it could take some weeks to determine how infectious the new Omicron variant is .

There is yet to be information as to whether the vaccines are effective against the new variant as well .The World Health Organisation informed that it was going to get all the answers that are needed by the world ,but it will take place when adequate research has been conducted .
