Meet The "63 year" old body builder from South Africa
Anything is possible
Meet a 63 year old body builder from South Africa Gugulethu, who focused on one goal only, "Gaining more and more muscle and staying fit all the time". He went from being an alcoholic to being a body builder. Many told him that he won't be able lift those heavy metals at his age, but he proved them wrong.
People often asked how he was able to put up with all the obstacles that stood between him and fitness. He simply told them, he did it because to him it was a passion, and it's something he always wanted to do, something he would leave behind to be remembered for. This old man should be an inspiration to you too, because he's obviously been an inspiration to me. If he can do it at his age you can also do it.
We wrote this article because this man is such a great inspiration to most, indluding us. He's a living prove that nothing is impossible if you give it your best. And commit to it - (one hundred percent) without having any doubts whatsoever. If he can do it, you can also do it. Perhaps, this article might be what you needed to activate your inner passion, yours may not be the same as this old man's fitness journey - You're interested in something else, no worries - I believe this article is enough to activate that inner passion "burning" inside you.
The journey of quitting Alchohol
It all started when he came back home drunk at night, with a broken leg. He withrew all his savings in their family joint account. The amount he withrew was R9 600.00, which him and his wife took them a long time to save for future emergencies. He went to town that day and withrew all the money, later went to a local tavern where he spent the money to entertain his friends and "Abomakhwapheni"-(Side dish). When his wife had realised of what he had done, that's when things turned south for him. His wife was furious, but took him to hospital anyways. When he came out it was time for him to face the music. His wife has had enough.
Not all beautiful love stories have a happy ending. Their's, unfortunately, was not an exception either.
His wife was very devastated and so was him. It was the toughest and darkest time of their lives, and he knew very well that I he had to be strong for her. For both of them. Though he was her only shoulder to cry on. Most of the time, he broke down alone in rooms of silence, when he was sure she was not nearby. He could not ever get over that and he knew that his wife could not either. She spent her nights crying and clutching tightly on to him. She spent her mornings waking up in tears and crying. On most days, he tried to calm her down but on some days when his heart could not manage to handle the unbearable pain of thier loss of thier entire savings; they sometimes held each other and cried their hearts out. So emotional.
The importance Living a healthy lifestyle
Being healthy should be part of your overall lifestyle. Living a healthy lifestyle can help prevent chronic diseases and long-term illnesses. Feeling good about yourself and taking care of your health are important for your self-esteem and self-image. Maintain a healthy lifestyle by doing what is right for your body.
The reason why he decided to go for "bodybuilding"
At that time he though it was best to take his mind off things. He said that - he always enjoyed watching fitness magazines when he was still a young boy and often dreamt of becoming a bodybuilder someday.
The motivational message him
Apart from being a body builder, he's also a motivational speaker. I have wrote down some of his motivational messages. This guy respects time a lot.. He once said, "Imagine there is a bank, which credits your account each morning with rs 86,400, carries over no balance from day to day, allows you to keep no cash balance, and every evening cancels whatever part of the amount you had failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every pence, of course!
Well, everyone has such a bank. Its name is Time.
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the records of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours.
There is no going back. There is no drawing against the "tomorrow."
Therefore, there is never not enough time or too much time. Time management is decided by us alone and nobody else. It is never the case of us not having enough time to do things, but the case of whether we want to do it.
Safety for Senior Bodybuilders
Many 60-year-old bodybuilders are in excellent health, but it's important for those just starting a bodybuilding program to get medical clearance from their doctor, particularly if there's a pre-existing condition, recommends the Academy of Family Physicians. Additionally, you should listen to your body when exercising and stop if you feel dizzy, short of breath, have chest pain or break out in a cold sweat.
Additionally, you might feel some muscle soreness as you begin to increase your bodybuilding program, such as when you begin to lift heavier weights. Delayed onset muscle soreness typically develops between 12 and 24 hours after working out, according the Council of Sports Medicine, and the pain often peaks between 24 and 72 hours later. You can reduce the pain by applying ice packs, massaging the sore muscles and taking over-the-counter pain relievers.
However, keep in mind that muscle soreness is different than other types of pain that you shouldn't ignore. When lifting weights, pay attention to sharp pain that prevents you from moving a body part.
These are my words to you, "A burning desire is the starting point of all accomplishment. Just like a small fire cannot give much heat, a weak desire cannot produce great results.
