John Harvey Kellogg was a physician who was uncomfortable about sex. Mr Kellogg believed sexual desires caused disease's and he invented the cereal to stop self pleasuring.
He was anti-sex, he considered masturbation even worse.
He never shared a room with his wife. Instead of impregnating her, he decided to adopt the children. He believed masturbation was "self pollution". He wrote a book called (Plain Facts For Old And Young). In it, he described 39 symptoms caused by masturbation.
These included: stiff joints, poor development, epilepsy, infirmity and acne to count a few.
He believed plainer food could help purify the body, mind and soul, " meat and rich food increased sexual desires "
