Ivory Coast made him a chief and Senegal gave him Honorary Doctorate, that is Ramaphosa for you

President Cyril Ramaphosa was in the western African countries , Ramaphosa went to Nigeria , Ivory Coast , Ghana and he concluded by going to Senegal yesterday.

Ramaphosa was welcomed with lot of respect by the west African leaders , it was evident that he is indeed one of the most powerful leader in Africa .

The president used his time to lambast the  rich countries who banned the travel from Southern Africa after the discovery of the omicron variant by the South African medical scientists .

“And so one asks, where is science? These countries have always said to us that we should base our decisions on science. But when the time comes for them to apply it to themselves, they do not, but resort to their own self-interest” Ramaphosa said in Senegal .

Ramaphosa said he was really disappointed on how the rich countries behaved on the issue of vaccines also .”Firstly, they hoarded vaccines. They ordered more vaccines than their populations required” Ramaphosa said .

When he was in Ivory Coast , Ramaphosa was given the chieftaincy , Ramaphosa now in the Ivory Coast he is called Chief Abidjan. Analysts are saying that chieftaincy is the highest honour which can be given to anyone in Ivory Coast .

President Cyril Ramaphosa was also conferred with a Honorary Doctorate by the University Cheik Anta Diop (UCAD) in Dakar, Senegal, during his official visit on invitation of  President Macky Sall .

In Ghana Ramaphosa also took sometimes to dance on stage with a Ghanaian woman . It was showing that indeed Ramaphosa enjoyed his Western Africa visit.

Ramaphosa is however expected  to meet the National coronavirus command council (NCC) to chant the way forward on the rising infection of Coronavirus in South Africa.
