The world and South Africa will have to wait some weeks before there are answers to the key questions around the new B.1.1.529 Coronavirus variant first discovered in the country and Botswana.
The vaccinated Minister of Home Affairs Aaron Motsoaledi tested positive for the covid-19 virus, is not yet confirmed that is a newly detected variant. The new variant is dangerous and scientists say neither even vaccine can stop it from taking you down.
SA had, as on Friday morning detected roughly 50 cases of the new variant of the SARS-Cov-2 virus that causes covid-19. There was a dump of more than 75 000 historic test results by health authorities, of which 18 000 were positive cases, on Monday night.
This new variant has raised concern among scientists because it has more than 30 mutations, including novel mutations, which while worrying will assist in identifying people infected with the new variant through normal testing. Rather than somewhat delayed sequencing of samples used to detect other variants.
However, people are still encouraged to vaccinate even though this new variant will be stopped by nothing to attack your system. This comes as a surprise when people are still encouraged to vaccinate hence the vaccine is helpless to this new variant.
Do you think people should continue vaccinating even though the vaccine is helpless?. Let's not fold our hands when we see things getting out of control. What must be done from now on?
