Are you a man over forty? Here are 3 important things you should know about your health

As we age our health becomes more and more important. We certainly can't do the same things we used to do when we were much younger. There are limitation involved as your body changes. This is especially true for men reaching their forties.

Their health becomes that much more important to prioritize.

1. TESTOSTERONE LEVELS WILL DROP

This starts happening in your mid to late thirties (at a rate of 1% per year) and only gets worse as you reach your forties. The best way to counteract this would be to get as much exercise as you can that incorporats heavy lifitng. This encourages the testosterone to keep producing.

2. METABOLISM SLOWS DOWN

Have you noticed some belly gain? This is because your metabolism is slowing down. You can't scarf down braai meat and pap every weekend now without gaining weight. You can counteract this through 5-6 small meals throughout the day every three hours.

3. YOU CANNOT SLEEP SOUNDLY

This one is the worst one by far. Sleeping is far more difficult for men in their forties. This is because the stress hormone called cortisol, increases and makes it difficult. You may find you have little energy and your body atartsbto hurt as a result. Magnesium consumed at night can help ease this discomfort but without it, you will may struggle to get a good night's rest.
