When it was announced that alcohol retailers were looking into a new rule not long ago, South Africa was swept up in a whirlwind of emotions. People who have not been vaccinated should not be able to purchase alcohol, according to this new legislation.
Many alcohol merchants were approached with this suggestion, and they wanted to take some time to consider it before making a decision. According to the proposals, this was an attempt to increase vaccination rates and aid the country's fight against the coronavirus.
On September 24th, alcohol sellers in South Africa expressed their displeasure with the plan. They stated that they will not consider this suggestion because it would obstruct a lot of business. They despise the choice and will go to any length to prevent it from being implemented.
As a result, there is no need for alcohol drinkers to get vaccinated because they can still buy their favorite alcoholic beverages without having to get vaccinated. The health MEC in Limpopo proposed this entire issue. The concept came from a good place as far as the province's health department was concerned, but it was not well welcomed. South Africans love their alcohol and do not want anything to get in the way of that.
This is excellent news because it is now clear that they will not utilize alcohol to get people to be vaccinated. People should get vaccinated when they want to and nothing will be forced upon them, it was stated from the beginning.
The whole idea of no vaccine and no alcohol was just a ruse to persuade people to be vaccinated, and it is a good thing it did not work. What can be said is that it is not yet clear whether or not the law will be implemented, but alcohol stores have expressed their displeasure with the proposal and stated that they do not want the bill to be passed.
