Mzansi is very worried about where they stand as the corona virus infections continue to rise beyond. There was a big jump in Covid-19 cases , as the number of new infections in South Africa rose to more than 8 500 in the last day of November .
The high number of infections came through on Tuesday and Wednesday . The latest national institute for communicable diseases data showed at https://nicd.ac.za/latest-confirmed-cases-of-covid-19-in-south-africa-1-december-2021/ .
The numbers from the NICD on Wednesday showed that there were about 8 561 new people who were infected by covid that were reported in the last 24 hours Up from 4 373 reported the day before .
The other concern around the positivity rate the number of confirmed infections against the number of tests taken in the same period - which rose from 10.2% on a Tuesday to 16.5% on Wednesday , this really shows that the country is facing difficult time again of covid .
According to the source the province that have high number of infections in South Africa is Gauteng which recorded 6 168 cases in the 24 hours period , Western Cape follows with 612 cases , KwaZulu Natal standing at number 3 with 476 cases , Mpumalanga 375 and North West 253 .
