The Covid-19 cases may be decreasing ,but the danger is not yet over .Gauteng province recorded the highest number of new Covid-19 cases than the rest of the province . The province recorded a total of 456 new cases and it was the only province that managed to record more than 400 cases in 24 hours .
Western Cape province recorded a decrease in Covid-19 ,but it was the province with the second highest number of new daily Covid-19 infections . The province recorded a total of 316 new cases on the same day . Kwa-Zulu Natal recorded the third highest number of new daily Covid-19 cases and had 285 cases to its name .
Moving on , there were provinces that recorded the lowest figures in regard to new cases . These included the Northern Cape province that had a lowest figure of 39 new cases on Monday evening . Eastern Cape recorded the second lowest figure in regard to new cases , as it had 86 positively identified cases .
It is extremely pleasing that the cases are decreasing right as schools reopened for the new academic period . The country recorded a total of 1691 new Covid-19 cases on Monday . This meant that the nation now has a total of 3 560 921 positively identified cases to date.
On a sad note , it was revealed that there had been a total of 25 people who had died from Covid-19 related infections . Therefore , the number of people in South Africa who have dies as a result of Covid-19 related sicknesses since 2020 is now 93451. The number of tests that were conducted in the past 24 to 48 hours across South Africa was 18171 . This meant that the positivity rate for South Africa decreased to 9.3% on Monday .
