Dr Phophi Ramathuba was delivering vaccine jabs to people of Moletji in Heritage regalia. See Pics

Limpopo province is lucky to have the most hardworking and dedicated MEC of health. To top it all, she is also a medical doctor. Doctor Phophi Ramathuba is the MEC of health in Limpopo province.

She has been leading the vaccination campaign since the first roll out. So far more than a million people have been vaccinated in the province. Currently the people above the age of 18 are getting the jab.

Doctor Phophi Ramathuba has today visited the people of Moletji to deliver the vaccine jabs. She delivered the jabs while wearing Heritage regalia. Virus does not wait because it is a national public holiday and Doctor Ramathuba knows that very well.

As one of the most dedicated politician in the African National Congress Doctor Ramathuba deserves a gold star. While the other doctor who was an MEC in Gauteng was dismissed for improperly benefiting from the tenders that were meant to provide PPEs to the people of the province Doctor Phophi Ramathuba continue to be an exemplary leader.

The coronavirus and the resultant lockdowns have destroyed many businesses. A lot of them were unable to reopen even when restrictions were eased.

There are still those among us who are afraid of taking the jab even when the alternative is far worse. With so many people having lost their lives to the virus, there are still people who want to take their chances.

No one knows how the virus will affect them. There are those who got better without requiring intensive care, but others like the late Minister Mthembu were not so lucky. Minister Mthembu and many other great South Africans succumb to the virus.

Pfizer vaccines have been approved for children which pave a way for more of the population to get vaccinated. Children move around a lot especially at schools and on the playground without wearing masks or sanitizing hands.

This little bundle of joy could very well be the super spreaders of the virus. That is because unlike adults children become asymptomatic when they become infected.

The vaccine drive should now be directed to schools. With the permission of the parents the department of health can vaccinate school children with ease.
