Causes of piles and their symptoms

Every human being has hemorrhoids in their anal canal.haemorrhoids are veins that serve as cushions to the anal canal to aid with stool motility.

But when can these veins become a problem and cause disease, when they are swollen and might end up rupturing causing the bleeding evident after defecation.

Hemorrhoids can either be internal or external. Internal hemorrhoids develop within the anus or rectum. External hemorrhoids develop outside of the anus. Hemorrhoids are also known as piles.

External hemorrhoids are the most common and most troublesome.

The following are some of the symptoms of hemorrhoids: they may cause pain, severe itching, and difficulty sitting. Fortunately, they’re treatable.

Here are important things to note and to increase your suspicion index of piles:

1.bright red blood after defecation, especially seen on wiping or on top of the faeces

2.pain while passing stools

3.feeling bumps on your peri-anal area, or having protrusions of the bumbs that you can shove back into the anal canal but sometimes it might be impossible such that they are permanently outside.

Causes of hemorrhoids

straining during a bowel movement

sitting for a long period of time, especially on the toilet

having chronic constipation or diarrhea

having a family history of hemorrhoids

engaging in consistent heavy lifting or other activities that strain your body

having anal sexual intercourse, which can irritate hemorrhoids

being pregnant (an enlarged uterus presses on the vein in the colon causing it to bulge)
