The Covid-19 cases around the world continue to increase. The accumulative number of Covid-19 related cases identified in South Africa stands at 1586 148. In the last 24 hours, 1187 new case have been reported. There has been 59 new Covid-19 related deaths reported, and bringing the total number of deaths to 54 511. South Africans have recently got very concerned after discovering that a traveler from India tested positive for Covid-19 and 14 other crew members also tested positive Covid-19.
India is currently the worst affected country at the moment, as the numbers of cases continues to surge. India can record more than 300 000 cases in a single day. Hospitals are full to maximum capacity, and some patients are being turned away. However, Minister of Health Zweli Mkhize has assured the nation that there is really nothing to worry about, but we do not that when they say something like this, that is when you really have to start getting worried. What happened when the first case of Covid-19 was discovered in March last year? They told us not to get worried and today we a sitting with 54 511 people who died due to this pandemic.
