South Africa has recorded 4,074 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NICD) said on Saturday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 3,952,193. This increase represents a positive rate of 14.2%. There have also been nine new Covid-related deaths in South Africa.
Most of the new cases on Saturday came from Gauteng (1,365 cases), followed by the Western Cape (997). KwaZulu-Natal represented 484 cases; Eastern Cape represents 441; followed by Free State (265), North West (172), Northern Cape (140); Mpumalanga (139) and Limpopo (71).
Meanwhile the government have implemented a new vaccination measure thats will have vaccinated citizens travel internationally with any trouble. A new QR code scan has been invented and vaccinated people can access it through their mobile phones for immediate scanning and travel approval.
