What happens to your body when you sleep immediately after eating.

There is a time frame that one should wait from their last meal to sleeping, and according to nutritionists they will tell you to wait about three hours between your last meal and bedtime. There are certain things that will happen if you decide to sleep just after eating and in this article we will look into that.

It can cause nighttime heartburn. Lying down shortly after eating can cause the contents of the stomach to reflux into the esophagus, leading to nighttime heartburn, a digestive issue that can lead to an uncomfortable burning sensation in your chest.

A snack is not a major problem and can be eaten without any issues. Heavy meals that are acidic, spicy are the biggest culprit to nighttime heartburn.

Other things you might experience is more frequent trips to the bathroom at night, poor quality of your sleep and may find it harder to fall asleep, last but not least is weight gain.
