There was a decrease in the number of new Covid-19 cases in Gauteng province in the previous 24 hours . This was due to the fact that Gauteng province recorded 774 new daily Covid-19 infections , which was a decrease from 866 new cases .recorded on Friday evening . This may be a decrease in the number of cases for Gauteng province , but it did not change the fact that the province still had the highest number of new Covid-19 cases compared to the rest of the nine provinces of South Africa .Gauteng remains the country's Covid-19 hot spot area because of th high number of daily infections .
Western Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal provinces remained the provinces that had the second and third highest number of new cases on Saturday respectively . Information that was shared by the National Institute for Communicable Diseases revealed that Western Cape recorded 580 new cases , whereas Kwa-Zulu Natal recorded the third highest figure with 462 . Northern Cape province became the province in South Africa that recorded the lowest number of new Covid-19 cases .It became the only province on Saturday that recorded less than 100 cases , as it had 78 new Covid-19 cases .
What is happening in Northern Cape can also be achieved in provinces such as Gauteng and Western Cape . Human behavior is one important factor that can contribute towards attaining positive Covid-19 cases that are like that of Northern Cape , and even lesser numbers .Measures such as wearing of masks , avoiding places that will be crowded and ensuring that places are well ventilated can contribute towards containing the virus . Getting vaccinated is another step that can be helpful towards reducing the spread of the pandemic . What measures are you practising as means of limiting the spread of the pandemic ?
